Pastor Gotts received and accepted the call as interim pastor in December of 2008. He previously served this congregation as interim pastor for five months.
Just before serving Oak Park Community Church of God as interim pastor he served as Minister of Discipleship for Neighborhood Christian Fellowship in Covina, California. He specifically worked with the small group ministry of the church, provides leadership development, and taught classes on the Bible, family issues, and other areas.
He has been a tent maker minister for most of his life; serving in pastoral positions while earning his living as a teacher and public school administrator. He has pastored churches in Idaho, intercity Oakland, California, and Merced, California. He has served other churches as Minister of Christian Education and Minister of Music. He has directed more than 14 youth camps in Idaho, Central California, and Northern California and served the church in various ways including Coordinator of Christian Education for the Northern California Churches of God.
Presently he is teaching at California State University, Fullerton in the College of Education. He has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Bachelor of Theology, a Masters in Education, and a Ph.D. in ministries.
Earl has been married to Beverly for 45 years, has 2 children, and 4 grandchildren. His hobbies include reading, teaching, and fishing. He also enjoys travel with his wife and when possible other members of his family.
